Picnics & Fairgrounds ... A Giveaway!

Ok, so everyone in blogland keeps talking about this new line from Denyse Schmidt ... ummm my favorite fabric designer!

Then my friend Rachel was telling me about this line called "Picnic & Fairgrounds". She said it is sold exclusively at JoAnn Fabrics.

Well, I had to have some. It was not as easy as I thought it would be to find all 21 prints. I had to drag my family to quite a few Joann stores ... but I have all 21 prints!

I did not go crazy and buy the whole bolt, but I did buy a few yards of each. I know how hard it was to find all the fabrics and I would like to share!

I'm giving away a fat quarter bundle of each of the 21 prints.

    My favorite picnic was a picnic in Central Park in New York City to celebrate my granddaughter's first birthday! I carried a birthday cake and all the decorations for the cake several hundred miles and decorated the cake right there on the picnic blanket.

    My best picnic memory...My twin boys were aged 8 at the time (they are 27 now)and my daughter was 13 and we had just started to eat the lovely sandwiches they had made when two gigantic dogs came running over a hill and jumped right into the middle of our picnic and then proceeded to take off with most of it. No owner in sight.

    our country fair is held at our local fair grounds; I love going. best picnic memory? my dad climbing an apple tree in an orchard, falling out of the tree and dislocating his shoulder. we all told him he deserved it because he ignored the no trespassing signs lol.

    Well, as my blog says, we've transplanted to a major metro area. There is no county fair here at all. No 4-H. I guess the kids are busy with other stuff. We usually go home to Indiana to my mom's fair where she enters stuff in the adult sewing class.

    What would I make? I don't know if I'd leave them all together or break them up a bit and make a few bags (I love bags) and use the rest in a QOV quilt.

    My best picnic memory was 27 years ago when I was pregnant with my second daughter. My husband and oldest daughter and I went to Acadia National Park in Maine. We went to a little place called Pretty Marsh. It was such a beautiful day and had so much fun. When we came home my husband even wrote all about it in my oldest daughters baby book. She was about 22 months old.

    My best picnic memory is one of my first dates with my husband. I had jaw surgery at the very beginning of summer and I couldn't drive because of the medication. When I finally was off of my medicine I packed us a picnic and drove down to his house. He was surprised and he took me out to a beautiful spot in one of his hay fields where we could see the sun set. It was perfect and he even loved me with my swollen face :)

    Our Jo Daviess County Fair is located in Warren, Il which is 7 minutes from our home. My son is big into raising chickens. He was asked to be a judge and declined since it would make him unable to compete! ;)

    Best picnic memory would be with my son when he was about 4 years old. We own an empty half a block in a small rural town within walking distance of our house. We would take our afternoon lunch, a quilt to throw on the ground, and one of his favorite stories to read. It seems a million years ago now, but we sure did have some wonderful afternoons.

    Ohhhh, I love this fabric! I was only able to find 9 of the prints. Bolts disappear almost daily at my Joann's! My husband and I are trying to conceive our first child right now. If we have a girl, I want to use this fabric for the nursery. =)

    My favorite county fair is actually the next county over from me - the Evergreen State Fair (it's actually a county fair, even though it has "state" in the name). I was in 4-H as a child, and showed there every summer. Ahhh, I love the fair!

    Hmmm, well when I was younger, my mom would make a huge taco salad. Then my family (mom, dad, and two sisters) would drive into Chicago and go to the free concert in Grant Park. We could run around and eat taco salad all night long.

    Okay, so my favorite picnic memory(ies) is when my mom and I would have picnics in our living room :). Eating on the floor on a quilt with a picnic basket was so much fun, I didn't even notice we weren't outside! Lol!

    My favorite was the elementary school picnics.the Moms would sit at the picnic tables and bring tons of food and we were allowed to run free and ride all the rides and play all the games..such fun times...

    My best picnic memory - hmm. . . I think that would be the Easter picnic a couple of years ago with the Winds, Keiperts, and Justin, out at the beach pagoda, with the fresh air, white sugar sands, and clear Caribbean-colored waters to keep us company!

    On my 10th birthday we went for a picnic in the forest close by and my mum even brought my loved "Schwarzwaeldertorte" there. Still don't know how she managed to do that with her backbag! So crazy cool and I still remember it so good!

    I live near Dallas, so the State Fair of Texas is a pretty big deal, but growing up I always baked cakes for the Wise County Youth Fair in Decatur, TX.

    My best picnic memory... I think it would be a 4th of July picnic... my kids were all young still and we were outside of the Disney World area. The mood was just so festive, yet laid back and peaceful. It is a good memory!

    Our county fair here in Benton County is in Bentonville. While I sometimes forget that I live in arkansas (because we live in northwest arkansas, where it's very diverse and highly populated with transplants), at fair time, it's pretty obvious that I live in Arkansas! :-)

    My favorite picnic memory is when my family was in hawaii on vacation when I was 12. We went hiking on some dormant volcanoes and had a picnic in a tropical forest. Very cool. Thanks for the chance to win!

    Here in Scotland we have our local agricultural show instead of a county fair. The closest to me is Stewartry Agricultural Show, which is held in my local town of Castle Douglas.

    At a picnic on the beach, husband Stuart was cooking hotdogs on the camping stove, he dropped them in the sand (!) and had to wash them off in the sea. We called them salty sea dogs! They tasted great :-)

    My favorite picnics are when I traveled around Texas with my mom and grandma. Mom would bring a cooler stocked with sandwich makings. Iceberg Lettuce straight from the cooler is great on a sandwich during the steamy Texas summer.

    my fav picnic memory is one on the beach. my then boyfriend (now husband)was kind enough to pack a nice lunch and some champagne to celebrate my graduation from law school. and just when i thought the day couldn't get any better, he proposed!

    I don't know if this is my favorite memory, but it is the one I remember the most. We went to a campground on the coast of WA to spend the day with friends and have a picnic. When we left home it was 85 degrees. We (my four children, husband and I) were all in shorts and tank tops. When we arrived there with no jackets it was overcast and about 50 degrees.     Our county fair here in Kings County, NY ( I live in Brooklyn) is actually going on right now at the Aviator Sports and Event Center...just thinking about it makes me want a corny dog!

    My favorite picnic memories come from "end-of-the-year" picnics back in school. I always bought school lunches so taking a sack lunch to school was a BIG deal, and we really looked forward to those picnics!

    Best Picnic--that's easy! PB&J sandwiches, grape koolaid on a blanket by the lake with my Grandma. We loved to see her take her lime green picnic basket from the shelf! It always meant a good time was coming. Great memories!

    I love the fair too! And I live in Oregon so we've got plenty..there's Multnomah County and Clackamas County fairs near me and then a big one called The Pendelton Round Up which is a real cowboy rodeo - oh and the St. Paul Rodeo. I've been to them all ;)

    My favorite picnic story: my nephews (4&5) spent the weekend with me in December and we had a picnic in 40degree weather at 10am in the park across the street. It was the highlight of their time with me - and so cold! Thanks for an amazing giveaway!

    Hmmm, favorite picnic memory... I had a very memorable picnic with my now husband back in 1998. I made all the plans and we hiked quite a ways and set down in a lovely corner of the horse pasture, surrounded by apple blossoms and spring foals. Then I found out he hates to eat outside! LOL

    My military spouse group used to go to the beach (up in CT) for Concert @the beach every Wednesday night. We would all bring picnic dinners, and margaritas. It was about the most fun we had while the husbands were deployed. We have moved since then, but I miss those fabulous ladies!

    My favorite picnic was with my hubby. When we were engaged, he picked me up from work with done and wisked me away to a park with a picnic dinner. Very sweet and romantic.

    I remember when I was a kid every time we went for a picnic it rained. However my Dad had a really cool car it had picnic tables in the back of the front seats, rain no problem.

    As a child, my family would take foreign exchange students and other guests to picnic on the mountain, where we would climb boulders and fallen logs and play hide-and-seek. Fun memories.

    my favourite picnic memory was probably when my family went to a Safari park in the UK. after driving around and seeing all the animals, we sat and had a lovely picnic. the best part was when several peacocks joined us! they would just wander around us. it was a beautiful sight to see!

    I treated a friend to a picnic one year for her birthday. We met at a local playground park, had homemade salads & good times, but her birthday surprise was dessert. I'd brought a pint of Ben & Jerry's ice cream for each of us!

    We don't have a county fair (is that perhaps an American thing?) but in Canada we have "exhibitions" - ours is called Buffalo Days and is held at the beginning of August every year!

    The best picnic were the ones I would have with my boys at Balboa Park in San Diego. It is a beautiful place and since they are grown it is nice to look back on that time with them :o)
