Dr. Seuss BABY!

Another one of my teacher-mates is having a baby. Like so many others I know, she is holding out for the great surprise. Having gone through elementary with Bethany, the Mommy-to-be, and high school, and even college - I wanted to make the perfect quilt for her.

I probed around for nursery theme, colors, etc. I had my spies in first grade ask about her taste in all things baby. They told me that she had a Dr. Seuss comforter. Aaaah, I have some fabric for that! (For those of you who know me, are you surprised?)

Bethany had told me that she painted the babies room in orange. She accented the room with primary colors. Perfect!

The layout was a simple one. I wanted to be able to show off the characters on the fabric.

I cut the the main squares 6".
The sashing was cut at 2". I did not want it to be too wide and distract from the blocks.
I trimmed it in a white border that was cut at 1 1/2".

The backing had all the characters on it. I bound it in the same material.
